The City of Monrovia operates under a Council/Manager form of government.
Mark Alvarado, Monrovia's Interim City Manager, is responsible for the day to day operations of the City, taking his direction from the City Council.
A search is currently being conducted to select a new City Manager, following the resignation of Scott Ochoa in December.
The Office of the City Manager is directly responsible for:
- The Monrovia Redevelopment Agency
- The City Clerk's Office
- Economic Development
- Public Information and Community Relations
- Old Town Business Promotion District
- Customer Service
